Patterned Imprinted Concrete
Patterned imprinted concrete can be a very innovative skill. You can use colours and patterns on freshly poured concrete to make patios, driveways, or paths. This recreates the look of real materials like stone and slate as well as timber. We avoid the high costs associated with natural products.
Minimal Maintenance
Patterned concrete is a unique product that needs minimal maintenance. It performs well over other products like flagstones or tarmac. Many problems can be solved by a dolomite under-base and four inches fiber reinforced concrete. Alternative products can solve these problems, including sinking, weeds, and moss. You will also encounter problems with block paving, woodrot, and pest control when you have wooden decked patio areas.

Our resurfacing technology is a nontraditional, concrete-based decorative imprint process. It can adhere to virtually all solid sub-bases and can be applied onto surfaces like bricks, slate, marble or stone.
The imprinted concrete surface is extremely durable and requires little maintenance.
A concrete floor with a pattern imprinted on it will cost you less and enhance the appearance of a normal floor.
What is Pattern Imprinted Concrete?
Simply put, patterned concrete, also known as stamped concrete, involves pouring concrete on a base, then applying a colour and finally a hardener. This is different from traditional concreting that used blocks to create your finish.
The pattern is applied after the concrete has drained. There are many prints you can choose from. The most common include brickwork, textured stones, and ashlar. Patterned concrete is an attractive choice for domestic properties, particularly when it comes to lining driveways.
Good quality print
It is important to assess the quality of the printed concrete. Laying fresh concrete takes extreme care and dedication. Otherwise, the concrete will become inconsistent and cause a poor floor.
A contractor might use 6-8 rigid matsa and 1 flexible mat to print a set. The driveway’s narrowest section will require six mats. However, the flexible mats can be used to print and access areas that the rigid mats won’t.
Although most printing mats measure 600x600mm in size, it is possible to order matts up to 600x600mm.
Colour Consistency
You should consider colour consistency when installing imprinted concrete. This will ensure that your flooring has the desired colour. The main components of patterned concrete are colour surface hardener as well as antique release agents.
Poor final appearance can be caused by poor application of colour surface hardener. This is especially noticeable for large commercial jobs, like retail shop flooring.
Concrete deliveries will be required for large commercial jobs. Each concrete mix will have slight colour differences. The surface hardener matches the colours when they are applied. This is ideal if you have a larger job that takes more than a few hours to complete.
Ensuring Long-Term Durability
It is crucial that the concrete floor above will last for many years by ensuring durability with the sub-stone base.
The concrete mix used also plays an important role in ensuring that the structural integrity of the concrete floor will last for many years.
This is particularly important for high-traffic areas such as driveways, multistorey car parks, and warehouses that operate machinery every day.
Reduce the Chance of the Concrete Cracking
When applying for patterned concrete driveways, ensure that you have at least 300kgs cement per cubic meter.
You will need to use 350-380kgs for cold weather.
An air entertaining agent can be added to the floor to increase its durability and resistance against cracking due to heavy traffic or weather.
Reducing Maintenance & Maximising Results
A solvent-based acrylic sealant can be applied to patterned concrete once it has dried. This will improve its appearance. Water-based acrylics can be more difficult to use on patterned concrete, so avoid them.
To maintain the appearance of your concrete patterned, it is worth applying sealant at least every four years.
While it’s not required, this will help to keep your driveway (or any other place where our patterned concrete has been installed) looking fantastic for many years.
